After being a successful entertainment lawyer and professor for 20 years, Ms. Ronda Dixon decided to re-direct her focus. Ms. Dixon decided to explore the possibilities of helping her community, which had been her passion for many years.    Ms. Dixon had a vision to build an organization from the ground up. However, if Ms. Dixon knew nothing else, she knew the community needed someone with her drive and dedication.   In 2007, Ms. Dixon founded, Dixon Recovery Institute, located in Los Angeles, California.

The theme of the organization was very important to Ms. Dixon. It was important to have a place of solace where members of the community could go for the help and attention they needed. The theme of “Recover their Dreams” proves to be very relevant as community members come to the Dixon Recovery Institute for services. The facility is currently a fully functioning center that contributes to break the negative cycles that are apparent in the African American community. She works hard to employ, and assist those from the surrounding community as well.
